What else do I need for aev 2.5 lift
I’m going to be installing next week. I ordered the geometry correction brackets but was wondering if I need anything else like a front track bar or other items? Jeep will end up with either 33s or 35s.
thanks!
thanks!
You will have everything altho you might want to pick up a set of stock oem rear swaybar links to replace the brackets AEV supplies as they are kind of cheesy. The other option is if you don't have a rubicon is to add some JKS adjustable disconnects up front and if you have a rubicon get some JKS adjustable rear swaybar links and use your rears up front.
The front axle will be offset a bit to one side, but just wait until it's lifted and you get a chance to drive for a while to see if you even notice it. If 'knowing' it's minimally offset bugs you, add the trackbar and perfectly center the axle. If not, don't worry about it.
I hate saying it but it bothers me knowing it’s off center. Lol. From what I’ve read teraflex trac bar is a popular choice but expensive . This is not a hard core Jeep. Doesn’t need anything too high end. What should I go with

I have installed 3 AEV 2.5's and none were offset enough to worry about. All were less than 3/16" off which is about as close as you can get. Remember when you are driving it is changing all the time.
that’s good to know! Outside of recenter the axle is there any other benefit of upgrading the front track bar. I see a lot of guys comment how it improves handling?

well stronger is always better. I have run both the Teraflex monster track bars front and rear and the Steersmart up front and both are much beefier than stock. I am running stock on my 2018 recon and don't feel the need for a stronger track bar as stock is fine for what i do.
im sure strength wise the stock one is strong enough. It’s more a matter of will I get an improvement in driving
I recently installed the AEV 2.5/geo brackets on an 07 JKUR. Afterwards the front was off 3/4" side to side so it was 3/8" off of center. The rear was off set the same in the opposite direction with the AEV bar and bracket. I added an adjustable front track bar to center the front and left the rear. My jeep pulls to the left after alignment with the above.
Appreciate the response. one thing is if it is strong enough for your activities. Another thing is if you noticed any improvement in handling with an upgraded track bar. Did you notice an improvement?
