2011 jk manual
Hello everyone! I’m new to the forum and I’m seeking some help!
I have a 2011 Wrangler JK with manual transmission, recently I noticed some type of rattling noise when I accelerate, it happens on any gear and only when in gear and driving. (If I’m stopped on neutral and rev the engine it does not make the rattling noise).
Has anyone experienced this or have any idea of what it could be?

Welcome to JKF.. We're a good group with much experience and knowledge. Check when Coasting in neutral and with the clutch depressed, this is some more info that might assist in identifying. Have you identified which side - passenger/driver .. front or rear is louder?
It could be something clutch related (usually the throwout bearing). But before taking any drastic action that direction, check the heat shield on your catalytic converter. For the JKs with the 3.8L motor, they are infamous for popping a weld and causing a rattle sound easily heard in the cab when accelerating. There are several short welds that hold the shield in place. Ensure all of them are intact. This thread may prove helpful ...

Try changing the oil to Amsoil Synchromesh. Son's 2016 had the rattle and with Amsoil it is gone. I believe for the era these gearboxes are just plain crap. The old GM Muncie's, Ford Top loaders and Chrysler A833's never ever gave trouble or noises. Usually when a gear lever rattles under load it is the center bearing inside the gearbox. I had that once many years ago and changed the bearings, seals and synchros. Bearings were SKF and that gearbox was smooth and silent after that. But to go back to your issue - try what I mentioned as that oil is just over half price of the Mopar correct product.
