What is the back spacing on the XD's? You probably won't need wheel spacers with them or most aftermarket wheels.

35's would be fine with a 2 1/2" lift with you stock 4:10 gears. You would notice a loss of power at 70 + mph and in hills but not too bad. If you you have a manual, it would be even better.

Then go with the lift and 33's or 35's or you will just wish you had.

Lot of guys here running 33's with a Buget Boost. Works out to be a great combination and doesn't change the drivability much over stock -if at all.

We put that combo on my Dad's 4door with the stock wheels. Only required a small adjustment to the steering stop to prevent rubbing at a full turn, and his tires are FAT. Looks great, didn't hardly affect the performance and he is running 3.73:1. It would be even better with 4.10:1

You do not need a lift to run the 285/70/17 (33's). I ran 33's on wheels with 4.5" of backspacing and no lift with no problem. I ended up putting on the 2.5" lift and love the combo. As far as the spacer, I agree with the post above. It depends on the backspacing of the new wheel. Stock is 6.25" of backspacing. Most aftermarket rims are 5" or less. You would not need spacers with a rim of 5" of backspacing or less.
