Question Ramsey or Mile Marker...

I am looking at getting a winch. I have priced a Ramsey with a Winch Mount Plate, in Quadratec (which I assume will bolt on to the factory bumper) or a Mile Marker with a Mounting plate, which says it bolts right up. There is about a hundred dollars difference in the total. Could anyone give some advice? Thanks in advance.

I believe the Ramsey is made in the USA. If it is that close, get the Ramsey.

I am all about buying made in the USA when possible. If I had gone with an electric winch, I definitely would have bought the Ramsey. Since I went with a Hydraulic, I didn't have much choice. That said I am very pleased with my Mile Marker.

Sorry for the hijack, but did you connect the hydraulics up to the stock PS pump?

I'm 99% sure that the Mile Marker hydraulic winches are made in the USA--their electric winches are made in China or somewhere outside of the country.

are you reffering to the milemarker hydraulic winches or the electric? What model ramsey & milemarker are you looking at? If you list the model numbers, I could help by telling you if they use series wound motors (vs permanent type) and I could compare line pull times. I've got an old issue of JP magazine that lists a winch comparison.

Both are electric. The mile marker is the SE9500C the reason I was looking at it is because I know I can get a mounting plate that mounts to my factory bumper. The Ramsey is a 8.5e, it is listed in the new Quadratec JK only magazine everyone is talking about on here. It has a price for a Winch Mount, so I assume it mounts directly to the factory as well.

Had a Ramsey for 13 years on a TJ. It never failed. Pulled at least 1000 times more than any of my friends winches.
