i have a 4 door rubicon that im putting 35s on. im trying to choose between 4.88 or 5.13 it is an auto. is 5.13 to much and if not what rpm will i be running with either of them at 60 mph

 

Do you have an auto or manual? They have different over drive ratios.

 

5.13. Don't even think twice about it.

 

Most people seem to agree:

Auto+ 35's = 5.13
Manual + 35's= 4.88

 

Being right on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains and with an automatic, I would suggest the 5.38s.

 

5.13... If you can 5.38

 

The 4.88's are a non starter for an auto on 35's. 5.13's are better and 5.38's would be best. I've got 35's and 5.13's and if I were doing it over I'd go 5.38's. It's only another 125 rpm at 75 mph and you'll love the power, the way it stays in OD and the way the cruise works. It's a no brainer. I'll bet the 5.38's get better mpg than the 4.88's would too.

 

what rpm will i be running at 60 mph with the 5.38. this is a daily driver and we drive out of town alot, we dont trailer it.

 

You'll be at 2169 on a 34.5 diam 35" tire. That will be great and feel relatively powerful as the air drag drops off quite a bit as you go slower from 75 mph. This assumes an auto not a stick.

 

chuck45 are you saying with 5.38 ill be running 2165 rpm at 75 mph and if so, what do you run with 5.13 at 75 mph. and yes i do have an auto.
