Default Old School

Here's a thought .... With all this "Old School" car trend in the last few years... New Charger, Camaro, Ford GT, new beetle, Mini, etc... Why didn't the guys at Jeep try to do more of a "classic look" with the instrument panel of the JK...???
Yeah, the JKs interior is OK, but nothing special... When the brought back the round lights on the TJ, I thought that was it.... Bringing back the center speedometer and other gauges and some retro looking switches would've been a hit I'm sure !!!
What do YOU think ???

Nice dash ... but I still prefer a more modern look.

Look at the Camaro and Mini interior... at least, I think, there is a "design intention"...
I'm talking about making it look modern with a retro look...

If they offered the durability of the old gear, and not just the appearance, I'd be all for it.

Wow, that pic brings back memories.

Oddly, the dash was the only area in my CJ that didn't rust!!!

I wouldn't mind the retro look...looks cool!....also be nicer to have a metal dash vs fake carbon fiber scratch magnet dash.

Shall we start with the rust, or the pull knobs with bent shafts that always came off. Or maybe the horn's half life (not to mention the odometer). No, no, it was the fabulous air flow from those huge defrosting ducts. And having the wires exposed under that flat panel, along with the cheap glove compartment lock, priceless. I'll give you the look (even with those cheap name plates), but durability & function were never existent.
