Default Anza Borrego weekend camping run! Weekend FEB 11th.

Anza Borrego weekend camping run. FEB 11th.

We are headed out for a weekend of wheelin and camping. Going to hit the trails in that area and do some camping now that the timing and weather is better. Since JeepitM8 already had a game plan so i'm going off that one. Meeting at the Pinion Mountain trail head at 9:00 a.m. on Friday Feb 11th. Hope to see all the familiar faces there and hopefully see some new ones.
Day 1: Pinyon Mountain Road. Meet at Trailhead (33 03 24.6 - 116 25 14.6) @ 9:00 am leave by 9:30. To get to the trail head, start from sissor crossing at Highway 78 and S2. Head south 4.4 miles on S2. Look for mile marker 22. Pinyon Canyon sign will be on your left.

We will continue apprx. 30 miles and end up at Fish Creek. We will check out the wind caves and diablo drop off (time permitting) before setting up camp at Split Mountain camp site off of Split Mountain Rd., south of Hwy. 78.

Day 2: We will head into Coyote Canyon to lower coyote cyn trail head ( 33.372317 -116.424717 ). We will camp at Sheep Canyon (33.366179 - 116.482316).

We will be on channel 16 and if i have a cell signal my cell is (951)334-6239 if you decide to just head up for one day or decide to join us at the last minute. Mark

Hey Beantown! The trails are rated easy. There are only a couple sections rated difficult and I believe those can be bypassed. I'll put you down as a maybe and hope that will become a going. Because your rite nothin like campin and wheelin.
