Your best bet would be to stop by the Big Bear Discovery Center. It's about 6 miles into Fawnskin on the 38. They have all sorts of maps there and you can get an adventure pass there also if you plan to stop and hang out for a while (Rangers check for them). The USFS website also has a great map of San Bernardino that's viewable on line. It will give you a good idea of the vast trail network up there.

3n16 starts off of Green Valley rd which you can pick up off the 18. Or, a better bet would be to take 3n14 (it's closer to the Discovery center) and head up to the Big Pine Flats campground. From there you can pick up the fun and historical part of 3n16 and take it all the way to Baldwin Lake where it dumps you back out on the the 18.

You can also hit up Jacoby Canyon (3n61) from 3n16 if you wanted to get some "real" 4-wheeling in with Gold Mtn and John Bull not to far away from that.

I think I can make it, just need to coordinate with the wife.
Serrano Campground still have a bunch of spots available so that's where we'll prolly end up staying.
I'll know for sure tonight. Worst case scenario I'll just come up for the day.
