That's the reason why I bought my Jeep...to go exploring. Let's go!

EDIT: Here is a web site I visit and read every now and then when I am bored.

i know Fish has found some cool old stuff.

let us know when you want to go poke around.
sounds like fun.
after awhile, you get tired of finding junk. With the newer detectors, you can see what your picking up, iron, pennies, quarters, nails, rings, pull tabs. Its still fun no matter what ya find. What gets ya going is when you find a Indian Head Penney (1859-1909), makes ya want to keep on going.

well looking at some of the sites, it looks like most have given way to the elements. Most buildings just have foundations left if that. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
I just want to get the Jeep dusty and dirty.

We need all the help we can get. Been looking at different sites and quite a few ghost towns of past have nothing other than flat land and pics of 50 to 60 years ago that don't even resemble what is out there now.

A reminder that it could be dangerous going into these old mines. The chance of a cave in and bad air is always present.

Jeeps, Ghost Towns, hanging out with friends, and maybe some Geocaching sounds like a good way to spend the day.

Yes, many places have been well worked over.
A few years ago I went with a group to the New York
Mountains north of Goffs.
Two areas we went to we had to 4x4 for a few miles then
hike in about a mile or so. Lots of stuff and buildings
still standing since it was an effort to get to these places
and vandals had not yet done them in. Let' s go.

Joe, no I don't really have an idea of which one. The movie flat up near lone pine is a thought but as another posted just getting out and exploring is cool. I mean just to stop and walk around where buildings have been i.e. Cajon where the fires have burned these buildings.

Hiking isn't out of the question either.

And it doesn't have to be a whole town. Finding an old shack near the mines are just as cool.

I'll look in a few books I have.
