Default A Good Newbie trail?

I was looking up a really easy trail 2-3 hrs drive from LA to go on a spontaneous one dayer. I've gone off-roading before but very moderate trails. I was looking into the project-jk newbie runs and both south coyote canyon in anza borrego or last chance canyon in kern look very nice!

I'm looking for one my unlimited can handle @ 32" MT tires w/ a 1.5" total lift.

Thanks ahead! I can't wait to join a JK run soon too!

Santiago canyon is a good newbie run. Super newbie run. It's basically a fire road with off shoots.

Would Lytle Creek might not be accessable now due to the fire in Wrightwood?

Can't wait to join a good JK run though, will stay posted!

Default Gold Mountain @Big Bear

Gold Mountain is a fairly tame run. I agree with a previous reply that going alone is never good thing to do, but this particular trail is traveled enough that someone usually comes along every so often. If you go there alone do it on a weekend. There is small rock garden that can be bypassed but why would you want to! Have fun with what ever you do!!

Well when you do go alone, post it up here and see if anyone wants to join you. It's more fun as a group, and you can do more challenging (i.e. fun!) things without risk of getting stranded.

For solo wheeling, I can also recommend Hungry Valley SRVA on a weekend. I've gone there as a solo Jeep a few times. There are lots of 2-wheel and 4-wheel rigs there on the weekends, so there's a pretty good chance someone will pass by eventually. Just a couple of weekends ago there, I was chased down by a couple of dirt bikers who alerted me of another Jeep that was stuck. They led me to him, and by the time I got to him, there was already another Jeep there to assist.

Where do I find more information out on this one, or others in the OC.
