Okay kids, here are a few pics from our rescue. WOLette also took some video and will try to get some clips up as soon as we can. I should also note that while photos have a way of flattening things out and making things seem under-impressive, casaintfan really was stuck in a bad way and it really did take quite a bit of effort to extract him....

Here we are airing down at Evans Camp getting ready for the trail ahead...

A couple shots of what casaintfan's JK looked like when we got to it....

Digging out what we could to help things out...

Tessa wanted to help out too...

Setting up for the first of many pulls...

As you can see here, the use of a snatch block and extra tow strap were needed in order to winch from a safer location...

The ground was so unstable that in addition to butting our front tire on a rock, we still needed to strap up to SDMF's Jeep for a better anchor...

Free at last...

Shot of everyone back on stable ground...

Sunset shot as we made our way back down the mountain...

All the pics can be found here:

Again, I must thank SDMF and Smack2020 for coming out to help. Truly, without it, this would have been a lot harder to do.

Now, time to go wheeling again

Great rescue! My hats off to those that went so far out of their ways to help a fellow jeeper! Way above and beyond in my mind!!!!!

Do you think that had he a winch of his own he could of managed to rescue himself?

After looking at the pictures it would have been very difficult to do a night time rescue with only one jeep. Great job guys.

Great pics of the rescue! Sure a lot of nice people here!

I've spent a lot of time around Evans Flat. One time I helped out a 12 year old kid that rode his dirt bike down a steep, sandy hill on the backside of Evans Flat. He couldn't get back up the hill, and it took all four of us, and a lot of throttle, to get that bike back up the hill. Looks like this Jeep may have been stuck in the same area.

CASaintsFan - Wow. You don't mess around - when you get "stuck," you're REALLY stuck. Sorry that this happened to you, but hey, it'll make for a good story now!

Great rescue job and nice pics.

Thumbs up

Thumbs up to WOL and his rescue team. What a spot to extract from. You guys are prime example of what owning a jeep is about. Good Karma for you all.

Thats what I was trying to find out, it looks like that area and its a bear if you don't pay attention. I've helped a quad get out from that soft shifting dirt. It must be the trail that runs out the south side of the campground.
