Default Install Locations?

Ok so as part of my pre-planning for my JK I was wondering how you guys are going about getting your mods on your rides. I'm brand spanking new to the off-road world so things like installing lifts and gears and drive shafts etc. is totally foreign to me. If it isn't a simple bolt on like an intake or a header or cat-back exhaust I'm lost.

Are you guys taking your cars locally to off-road mechanics/shops? and if so where and who gives decent labor costs. Can we get a sticky maybe of places to go and people to talk to locally?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

MUCH of the joy comes from doin' it yerself or finding other jeepers to show ya' how. But that said...sometimes it IS off to the shop time.....

Cant help with your location- but free bump for a decent suggestion for a sticky on this

Ya know in hindsight you guys are right... It's a Jeep and I guess half the fun of having one is putting the mods in yourself right? So maybe I'll just have to do some buku research and then throw an installation party LOL.

Now that would be pretty cool. A JK party where all we do the entire time is eat and throw mods on each others rigs Oh and then maybe off roadin somewheres to try em out.

I myself is new to off-roading but I'm loving it! Go here, this is where I get most of my install info http://www.project-jk.com/?cat=12 and if it's not here, you can always go to modified jk thread, you'll find great ideas and good help out there! Good luck but most importantly, have fun buddy!

This Sunday's run up Santiago would be a great first run. Pretty easy, quite a few JKs and Toms Farm at the end.

Man I wish i could go.
