well the dealer called me saying that it wasnt the trans case and that it was the differental. so i picked up the jeep and drove it to 4wp where we pulled the diff cover off and found everything in check. we put the cover back on and ran the jeep while on the rack and found that there is a slight knocking noise and vibration on the inside of the diff where the drive shaft hooks up. so we ordered new bearings and shit to put in and we will see if that does any thing. i hope this fies the problem!

also thanks jk marine for loaning a axle shaft but it turns out that that one couses as much wheel hop as mine so i dont think it is a bent axle shaft!

 

Just a heads up! I keep seeing people quoting dealer prices for Tcases at 2500.00. If you check the forum sponsors you will find prices for new 2008 transfer cases at $800.

Also I ordered an atlas 4 sp at the Moab vendors show in 2010. It should be delivered to the house in the next couple of weeks.

 

thanks i will take note of that, also i thought atlas stopped doing the 4 spd due to the fact of them exploding? u must be getting one of the new desigend ones!

 

Yup, it's the new design.

 

Hope it turns out to be worth the wait but most of that time was the redesign. Ken your rig is really becoming a beast!
