Is it just me?
I think the point is that the OP is annoyed by people who get on the forum or in a parking lot somewhere and talk all about what needs to be done to a rig to make it a wheeling machine but in actuality, have never been on the trail themselves. The way I see it is this: do what you want to your jeep, but be realistic in your information to others. If you wheel the snot out of your jeep and want to offer your opinion on things related to wheeling, go ahead. It should be of some value. Likewise, if someone pulls up in a jeep on 37" that shines like a waxed penny, don't assume he is a poser. I build jeeps for fun and sell them when I want another project. I know what's going on under there and what you need to be capable. I am on 37 now and haven't touched the dirt in the 4 months I have owned her. Why? I have a high pressure high commitment job, a wife, 3 kids under 5, and I live at the beach. I have other things that take my time. I am going wheeling this weekend since my family is going to the in laws. I am going to wheel the snot out of mine. Without that last sentence, I may have been one of the posers talked about in this thread but things may not always be as they appear. On this forum I try to hold my advice until asked and never criticize someone's own choices. I'm not paying for their jeep, its theirs to build. At the same time I too can be annoyed at the regurgitation of information that some try to pass off as their own knowledge. Jeep on.

Sorry for calling you a dick head...I thought you were calling me an ass! Just re-read it and you meant "people talking out of their ass." I'm over it....I banter enough with the wife...peace
Remember you said that on Saturday...
To the OP...
One of the the reasons I like this forum is the diversity of experience and interests. There's a reason why membership here drawrfs the other JK forums out there that might be a little more hardcore. I've been wheeling Jeeps for 20 years and discussing them on the internet since 1999. Many of the posts here are very similar to posts made 15 years ago on the rec.autos.makers.jeep+willys newsgroup. Sure the model codes and usernames change, but the arguing and name calling never does. Newbie, poser, mall crawler, web-wheeler, not a real Jeep, wheel it or sell it. Same old shit.
