Well, I took the leap. Been practicing a ton with a 90amp flux harbor freight and am buying a 220v hobart handler 210. Nice cart welded up and now a decent welding table. After ample practice with the hobart I will weld my c-gussets. Any advice on settings for those? I intend to use .030 solid wire w. 75/25 and setup voltage and speed for the inner c's as opposed to the brackets (3/16 evo).
I think I will skip sleeves and go for an artec truss and take the welding super slow.... The only thing that concerns me is the cast housing. It seems to be cast steel and not iron. Besides a good pre and post heat and wrapping in a welding blanket, any advice here?
