Is Miller Jeep Trail Open?
Last December, we camped at Dutchman Camp up at the top of the trail. It's right after the last obstacle on Miller Jeep Trail, just before taking the fire road back down into Hungry Valley. It was pretty nice camping up there, and there's a vault toilet and fire ring. And when we were there, there was also lots of fallen wood at camp to keep our fire going strong.
Wow 6 feet! I know some of those north-facing slopes don't get any direct sunlight in the winter, but I wouldn't have guessed 6 feet of snow. Mt. Pinos, where I go snow camping and snowshoeing, is at 8300-8800', and never got more than about 3' of snow this winter from what I hear.
Thanks for the update. I'm anxious to get back there myself. I was there last December, just a couple of weeks before they closed it. There were a few muddy spots there at that time. Here's me trying to figure out how to get unstuck from this patch of mud.

I just spoke to the Ranger Station and they advised that it will likely be after June 1st until the Miller Jeep Trail is re-opened. He advised that the trail sponsors (Bakersfield Trailblazers) are doing a recon and clean-up run this Saturday and they will likely know more specifics after that.
Do you already know what weekends you are shooting in June? My first and second weekends in June are booked, so I was thinking either June 11th or the 25th...
Yes; very close!
