Default mojave trail run april 21,22,23

Me and a couple of guys are going to do the Mojave trail on Saturday April 21, 22 and head home on Monday the 23. Never been, dont know what to expect. We are going to find a Motel in Lauglin on Friday night and camp on the trail on Sat and Sun nights. If anyone wants to join us, PM me or just show up. We will start the trail on Saturday morning around 8:00 am. We will be coming from Bakersfield.

I'm trying to figure out a way to join you-- I've been wanting to do the Mojave Road for a long time. It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to take the Monday off, but we might still try to join you through Sunday and make an early exit.

I'll know by later this week!

I'm planning on joining up early Sunday morning. Smack2020 said he'll be camping at Afton Canyon Saturday night, so I'll get an early jump and be out there about 8 or so.

Glad to finally be able to make one of the SoCal trips!

I am planning on camping at either mid hills or hole in the wall on Saturday and Afton on Sunday. Never been on this trail, but it looks like you can enter or exit the trail at several locations.

We live right across the river from Laughlin and can probabaly join you. The Mojave rd. is one of our favorite places. Laughlin to Mid Hills is a fairly easy trail. We too would have to bail out somewhere to head back home Sunday

This sounds like a great trip! I have the book title "Southern California Backcountry Adventures" (see attached pic). It has a great write-up about the Mojave Trail. The book rates trails on a scale of 1 to 10 for difficulty, with 10 being the most difficult. It rates the Mojave Trail as a 4. It says that most of the trail is rated 2-3, but there is one section of the trail that is more difficult and so the overall rating is a 4. It said that the trail is about 123 miles long, with lots of interesting points along the way. I think you guys will have a great time.

P.S. I highly recommend this book for anyone in So. Cal.

Sounds like a great trip, and would like to join the group, but I don't think we can make it next weekend. After the trip, however, it would be great if you or one of the others could post some pics and a review of the trail. We are interested in doing this trail some time and would like to hear more about it.

Just let me know where we can meet up Sunday morning - Afton, Mid Hills, or Hole-in-the-Wall. Afton's about a 3 hour drive for me, and the other two about 4. Is an ETA of 8 or 9 good for you?
