Thanks!! I was planning to use Krylon for plastic, but Lowes doesn't carry it (Home Depot & Ace Hardware do). Since I was there anyways, I got Rustoleum Universal (for plastic, metal, wood, etc) in Black satin. They only had 1 can of Flat black, but now I'm glad I got the satin. It's got a slight sheen to it which will make cleaning up dirt & crud a little easier. I bought 6 cans, used 5.
I love it. I'm glad I did it too cause some guy at the factory can't paint very well.

Awesome! Thanks. Looks like I found my next little project. What kinda prep did you do besides taking of the latches and doing a little taping here and there? And I will just be doing the front panels first, since I'll freeze if I take the whole top of now at this time of the year haha (I've been in the desert my whole life so anything under 70 I get cold) And would you say that 2 cans would be fine for the panels? (1 can each panel) One last thing...is that how your hard top came from the factory in that first picture??

Yeah, that's how the factory paint came. I never noticed it for almost 5 years until this weekend! Probably because that section is blocked by the soundbar above drivers side.

My prep might've been overkill, but I wiped it with Fantastic (it had been sitting in garage for 8 months, plus I killed about 25 spiders who made a home in it), then took a 220 grit sanding sponge and lightly sanded it & cleaned that up with denatured alcohol. I sprayed the first coat very lightly, waited 15-20 mins then did second coat. Took one full can per panel. After about 4-6 hours I mounted the hardware back on.
They say this type of spray paint (for plastic) doesn't require sanding, but I figured it couldn't hurt and gives a little better surface for the paint adhesion.
I was pretty impressed how well it turned out. Looks brand new! It's a quick fun little project to do the panels. The rear cap is a huge PITA.

Default Jack Holder

I made my own Jack Holder. It still needs to be sand blasted and painted but it functions really well.

I attempted to install the rugged ridge mirror relocation brackets! I got the passenger side completed and the driver side bracket on, but ofcourse I can't get the mirror out of the stock bracket. I PB blasted it, I have to try to get it out again. Hopefully I didn't strip the thread using the screw as a punch. I gave it some GENEROUS whacks.
