2009 Jeepers For Charity
You're right, charity events should not need to be approved but unfortunately in today's society there are scumbags that will organize a run or event to pad his own wallet--it has been done in the past and that's why we enforce the rule now.
That being said, is it so hard to PM WOL about an event and have some facts in hand?

Never did say that the American Cancer Society is scumbags but there are scumbags that would use the ACS as a front for their own gain. If you would like to debate this topic any further feel free to PM me and leave this thread on topic
Remember, you do not have to have a team of four to show up for the event. Just come out - we'll have a whole pool of 'fillers' we can partner you with to complete a team of four.
And if it is a special request those fillers be any particular make (as in a JK) we are more than happy to accommodate
Also, to help participants out with their donation/sponsor collections, we put together a little printable sheet. You can download it from here.
We look forward to seeing you all there!

Don't want to take a chance at getting a team with irritable bowel syndrome at the registration table.

lmao!
On the plus side, if you were paired with someone that had to hit the bathroom a lot it would not interfere with your time/score as long as they were able to hold it between checkpoints.
The timer starts when the first Jeep in a caravan leaves the checkpoint and ends when last Jeep in the caravan cross the line at the next checkpoint. This means while at the checkpoint location you are on 'dead time' not affecting your score until you decide to roll out and head to the next one. People who need to can use that time to go to the restroom, grab refills on water, etc.
I know what you are thinking - won't almost all the team's times be close then? Nope - that's where the min-events come in. At every checkpoint teams will participate in one Jeep themed mini-event. Their performance in those events will earn them bonus time deductions. At the conclusion of the event their distance (checkpoint to checkpoint) times will be added together and their bonus deductions will be subtracted to determine their final score.
So really, because we do not want to encourage speeding, most of the event's outcome will be determined by performance at the each checkpoint's mini-events.
Good times mang... good times!

!!Update!!
http://www.JeepersForCharity.com
Just a few updates to keep everyone in the "know"!!
A lot has been in the works for this event. Right now I can release a bit of the information that has been confirmed!
We will be raffling off a winch as well as some other incredible items!
We have the "usual" assortment of trophies but also have some new "dash plates" that will be handed out.
All of our "competition locations" have been moved to the Clermont area, so we will be keeping the competitions relatively local (gas is expensive) but still be able to enjoy some wonderful locations and scenery.
There will be on-site food vendors including:
Smash Mouth Pizza
AVC CB will be doing on site CB installation and tuning
Jeepers Den will have their remote store On-Site
And remember 100% of all proceeds collected go to The American Cancer Society!
