Yep, I've got 3 girls, 12, 8, and 5 and they love the Jeep and going off-road. They love it when the doors are off and get sad when I have to put them on. My oldest already says she's getting my jeep when she turns 16.

That would be a very difficult decision! I've thought about when my son turns sixteen. I'll get him a TJ to start with.

Yeah that's what I was thinkin. Probably get him a fixer upper when he's 14 or so. That way he can learn to work on it and really appreciate it instead of just giving him a new one to mess up

That's was I was thinking too. A TJ would be perfect but I'm not sure my wife will go for it. I've got 4 years to work on it :-).

That's a good plan! I wish my first ride was a jeep! I had a Plymouth sundance.

My first ride was a 97 tj an i drove it until the wheels just about fell off. When i got rid of it reverse and fifth gear were both gone. I could only park where i could pull straight out.

Grats to the new dad's! We just had my youngest in Sept., so looks like we have a lot of new/future Jeepers coming into the world. I have 3, oldest is 5 yr , younger ones are 2 yr and 3 mos. I'm going to be putting a 3rd row of seats in before too long to give the boy room to stretch out without hitting his head on a car seat!

I just got my JK this week, looking forward to modifying it. Hardest part right now is time and extra scartch. Since its a blank canvas there are a lot of cheap/easy DIY things to do. I think first up is plastidiping the nasty grey steel wheels! Already have my list of purchases though! Filet dreams on a hot dog budget, so it'll be a slow process. I'm sure I can pass the 2.5 BB lift before I get tires through the budgeting commitee (read, wife!) but we'll see. It just seems so small! I shouldn't have test driven so many that were already trail ready!

I definately want to get out there and do some trails etc, but I work on weekends. Seems like most folks here get together then
