Hellow fellow Arkansans, are any of you planning on attending Rocktoberfest this year? It will be the last weekend of October in Cass, AR. I didn't know if any of you have ever been or even heard of it. It's a really good time. Lots of fun trail rides through the National Forest. Plus you can watch the big boys break their junk wheeling through some tough terrain.

If anyone wants to come down and ride with us drop me a line.

Brad

sounds cool Brad! Are all the trails "break stuff trails"? Is there a web link about the event anywhere?

ROCKTOBERFEST 2009 FAQ:

MY TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE IS A 4X4 (I.E. TAHOE/PICKUP), BUT IT IS NOT A TRAIL RIG. CAN I DRIVE IT AROUND WITHOUT REGISTERING IT?
No, there are designated parking areas for both the main campground at Byrd’s and the competition area across the hwy to park your vehicle. If you are caught on trails or obstacles you will asked to leave without a refund.

CAN I TAKE MY VEHICLE TO MY CAMP SITE AND UNLOAD IT?
Yes, but you will be not be allowed to drive your vehicle around the campground during the weekend unless it is registered.

I AM ONLY BRINGING A CAR DOWN AND PLAN ON BEING A SPECTATOR, WE DON’T PLAN ON DRIVING IT CAN IT BE LEFT AT OUR CAMP SITE?
Yes, but you will be required to leave it parked at your camp site or return it to the spectator parking lot. If you plan on using it as transportation between events you must park in spectator area.

CAN I DRIVE MY VEHICLE TO THE BATHROOM?
Yes, if your vehicle is registered, or if you have a handicap permit/clearance.

HOW DO I GET BETWEEN THE COMPETITION AREAS?
There are many options to accommodate you various needs:
A) Register your vehicle-You can participate in trail rides, obstacles, and driving around the area.
B) Walking-Bathrooms and some competitions are located near campsites for your convenience.
C) Catching Rides- Many people travel frequently between the campground and Harrod’s Creek Competition Area. It is not hard to find a ride for those who need it.
D) Driving your unregistered vehicle-This is an option, but it comes with the most restrictions. You must leave your car in the designated spectator parking areas (Byrd’s-by the entrance to the campground and Harrod’s Creek- near the creek entrance.) However, you must stay off trails and obstacles. If you are caught you will be asked to leave without a refund.

I DO NOT LIKE THE PRICE/RULES. CAN I HAVE AN EXCEPTION? WHAT DO I DO?
Please feel free email sandspyder@cox.net, call 479-466-1267, or post questions for clarification. Rockcrawler’s 4x4 Members and Rockcrawler’s Staff work very hard to host an affordable event. Remember that Camp Jeep and Jeep Jamboree are much more expensive that our event. Also, recall that most of the money made is donated to a designated charity. This year the charity is Hope Foundation. Our officers and members create procedures and fees so that we can make this as safe, fair and enjoyable as possible for all. In order to do this we must set some guidelines and follow them within the best of our abilities. Please come, enjoy, and help us improve next year. Every year we reevaluate the success of the previous year’s event and suggestions that are submitted. You also can help with input and procedure of Rocktoberfest and other club functions by becoming a club member and attending meetings.

Any of you fellow Arkies ever ride the Highline through Ouachita National Forest? I'm wanting to get a ride going and wondering how grown up it is now.

Nope, but sounds like fun. Where do you access it and is it permitted?
