I'm still in. It looks like the rain will be spotty and mostly light. Are we meeting in Buford?

Jon.

Default Heads up durhamtown jeep trails open only 11-2

THE JEEP TRAILS ARE ONLY OPEN FROM 11 AM to 2 PM. I was at Durhamtown this morning 8:30 sharp to get registered and on trail at 9:00. The ATV and motorcycle trails are open all day but the jeep trails are not becuase of hunting. Also they said you have to have a winch to ride trails becuase so many people are getting stuck. The wreckers, or whatever you call while there, are getting stuck too.

So anyway from 11-2 the jeep trails are open except for trail #4.

I have no winch and did most of trail #2 and all of trail #3.

I do not see these hours on the website. I told them I would put a post on here for your group tomorrow.

The trails were good though, not alot of mud, at least on the beginner trails.

That's cool ... 4 hours is plenty ... I got a 3 hour ride there and a 3 hour ride home ..

I notice they talk all of the 4x4 info off their website ... no maps or prices either ??? Just shows dirtbike and ATV info ...

JEFF F ... are they OPEN TOMORROW? There is no longer anything on their website about ORV trails, hours, maps or prices ... I just tried to call you ... no answer.

I just called and spoke to someone @ Durhamtown, and they're a mess. She first said the 4x4 park is still closed, and when I said I knew someone that was riding there today, she said, "well, if you show up and didn't know that it was closed, we'll let you ride from 11 to 2, but you have to be out by 2 and be able to winch yourselves out." So this confirms what's been posted above. She said she thought the owners were going to close down the 4x4 section permanently, but she wasn't 100% certain.

So, it's a 4 hour round trip from OTP North ATL for a 3 hour ride in the rain. I have a winch and am willing to go still if all of you are up for it.

Can we get a final tally given that we'd be limited to a 3 hr ride?

Also, how many winches would we have?

-Gus

I guess that explains why they no longer mention anything at all on thier website about 4X4's and Jeeps ....

If you are certain they will let us on the trails I'll still go - I definitely don't want to waste a 3 hour drive to just turn around and come home .... If we want to call it off ... I'm OK with that as well ... I got other stuff I can do tomorrow ...

I have a winch.
