It was a local shop. The charged for their time diagnosing. They said I thefuture if I take off the upper radiator cover I can spray down the middle to clean it up.

Cool. I just popped mine off and looked. It's clean. There is about 1/2 inch space between condensor and radiator.

Shop did not say if necessary. I suspect it may direct airflow.

Grr. Still running hot. Not pegging the needle but still way too hot. Sigh.

ditto. This is a quirky little problem. I drove home from the airport last night and it only started to run above the normal (middle needle reading) range as I neared the house whereas when I left Monday, it pegged about 10 minutes into the trip. No problems on the way in this morning, nor did I have any problems on the way home last weekend.

I'm out of warranty so I'm going to try a good cleaning this weekend and maybe a new temp sensor or thermostat before I take it somewhere. Both of those should be sub $20 parts.
