Every winch I've ever owned and/or been around jams a little. Most of the time you just need to bump it out a little with the remote or reach in there and turn the drum a little for the lever to pop into freespool. It's kind of a fail safe lockup on the gears so the stupid thing doesn't pop into freespool all the time.

Of course, now that I've read this I'm sure mine will be the next to go

Driving around today I saw two JKs that I haven't heard from on the forum. The first was a Silver 4DR with black wheels and I believe 35s. The second was a 2DR Red Rock with Chrome/Polished wheels and 33s. Anyone know either of these guys?? The silver one appeard to have a few mods on it as well.

I was also talking with a guy at Sam's and he has invited me and as many guests as I want, to join a group for a fundraiser ride on 9 May. Donations are optional and all proceeds are being sent to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. For those that choose to donate, I could collect the money from the group we could present a single check payable to St. Jude's courtesy of whatever we want to call ourselves. Lunch wil be served for all who choose to donate. The ride is scheduled to begin at 8AM (rain or shine). The location is Bingham Mountain off Hwy 65. They will also be randomly drawing winners of dontated items. I plan on making it to this ride, and if anyone else is interested I need to let the event coordinator know the number in our group. So who's down??

I may be up for that although it'll definitely depend on how much shine there is verses rain.

Do you who this guy was in terms of belonging to some group/club? Also, did he mention trail conditions?

That's true - we can probably beat the odds in terms of winch reliability.
