I went there today. Nightmare trying to park. No signs and all the gaurds had no real clue. seems about as organized as their service dept, but that's another story, and why I'm not getting my door hinges done there, or the soft top header tsb.

Lots of nice cars there!

Wes, did everything stay dialed-in on the trip out West? Any TM kit updates?

Mine is still under the 3yr/36k mile bumper to bumper warranty. There's a TSB out for the door hinges. They painted the door hinges, want to install them painted, remove and reuse the door hinge hex bolts that are on there now. I asked how they planned on removing those hex bolts and reinstalling them w/o scratching the paint off and seal them to keep moisture from getting in there. They said they'd use some bottled touch up paint from the parts dept. Um, no thanks was my reply. I'll take it to a competent dealer that can do it right, and not have to have it redone 6 months from now because the "touch-up paint" is all flaking off and the new door hinges are rusted again. This is all after I told them initially that I wanted the hinges installed, and then painted to match the current paint. They said they'd order a batch of paint, insisted that the new paint from a different can would be a PERFECT match to my 1 1/2yr old paint, and theyd do it their way.

Maybe I should also mention the service writer who forgot to call me back to let me know my hinges came in two weeks ago but they were to busy to call me and let me know, because they "get behind". Plus the guy had to go ask someone when I questioned the way they were going to do the new hinges. The service writer HAD to stop and get a soda and chips, and stuff his face full of so many chips, talk to me while eating, so I couldn't hardly understand the guy.

Plus they weren't helpful at ALL when I told them the wind noise was still present at the top of my windsheild. I TOLD them about the TSB on the header panel and they insisted it was coming from the top of the pass side front door seal. They replaced it, nothing, still a noisy, howling wind noise at any speed above 30mph. Never mind my JK has the EXACT sypmtoms described in the TSB, but they decided to waste my time anyway.

Their incompetence amazes me and makes my brain hurt, wondering how they even operate and perform simple functions. I mean they don't even answer the phones. You have to leave a message after the phone rings with no answer, and they don't call you back. I guess being the only Jeep dealer around they can do that. I should mention the other service writer I dealt with was very kind but was so busy he forgot to address two of my issues on the ticket, so they never even got looked at, which is fine, ppl get busy. I figured I'd get the addressed when I came in to have the hinges installed. It was this return trip and lack of any return calls that really got my ticked off. Needless to say I'll never be returning to landers McLarity for any service in the future.

No paint beneath seems to be very consistent among those that have removed their hinges here on the forum. The amount of rust underneath varies, depending I suspect, on which part of the country the JK is located.

I haven't had any bubbling/flaking issues, but I've been toying with the idea of Dupli-coloring my hinges as I think the contrast of the black on my Stone White paint would look good.

Tony, here's the sign we were talking about at lunch the other day. Those last few words are, ". . . you will get shot!"

Default Drive Shafts

Steve, did you have any interference issues with your Trail Master drive shafts? Reason I ask is some folks have had issues with Coast and the 6-speed shifter cable bracket (since you sport a 1" BL, probably wouldn't have seen an issue even if interference was possilbe).

See ---> https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...l=1#post706548
