Default Just thinking out loud

I've always been told that to play it safe you souldn't put a tire bigger than a 35" on a Dana 44, It's in everyone of my 4x4 mags. talking about build ups of rigs and their frontends. Thoughts? I see some of you guys are running 37"
And I made a comment about MUD and nobody said anything, Do you guys in here ever get in the stuff or just rocks ?

That tends to be the consesus, and is in my plan but have to rebuild the funds first. I will "attempt" to take it easy on the Jeep until this upagrade occurs, but not sure it is in my nature
As far as the mud, been there done that and like Wilky said, you spend days and weeks trying to remove it....at least from the way I drive through it.

Steve, I've seen some of the tires like you have and they said something like off road only on them, Do they have a DOT approved set also ?

From what I've read, the 35" rule was generally true for the older generation Dana 44s. However, I believe the new generation axles are beefier from the factory. If they're built up with alloy axles, sleeves, and gussets then the can accomodate the 37s well. Or so I've read.

Mine are. Put the soft top back on though due to all the rain recently and was afraid I couldnt get it back in the garage after the lift/tires, but it fit.

Installed the Quadratec Extreme Duty Battery Terminals:
http://www.quadratec.com/products/17004_9001.htm

Only one beef about them, they're for the 07-10 Wranglers yet I had to drill the hole larger on the negative terminal in order to connect the cable. What's up with that?
