x2!
id start with a front aussie locker and go from there. then get an arb for the rear.
but you can go 90% of the places in 3wd that you can in 4wd. so keep that in mind.
you wont notice the front in 2wd cause an auto locker locks when torque is applied through the pinion. so that only happens when you put your jeep in 4wd. which means, as sushi was saying. it will suck when you put it in 4wd for driving in snow and ice.
its also not recommended to drive at a high rate of speed in 4wd with a front auto locker.
aussie, lockrite, detroit soft locker..... there all the same, all use springs and pins to lock and all are considered "lunchbox" locker.
they call them this cause all of the lockers dont require a "resetup" of the gears. as long as you can read and follow instructions you should be able to install it.

I have a Lockright locker in the rear with open dif in the front and can go any where the Rubis can. In my opinion I would install the locker in the rear first.
The only problem with it is people think your Jk is falling apart when your turning in a parking lot due to the ratcheting, clicking and clanking.

You just keep doubting! Why don't you just ask some of the people thats wheeled with me. Coal Creek good example, 2 Rubis had to use a winch on a hill I didn't.
I have seen situations that not having a locker in front = needing to winch or being denied......You just haven't found the obstacle that requires both axles to be locked.
If you get a front tire in the air with an open front.....you end up with 2wd......
go up this with an open front big guy....BTW that is scratching @ the top of revlimiter @ Mountainside

I not trying to say there is no need for a front locker, just from what I've read on this forum everyone says to install the rear before the front. Is there an advantage in having a locker over an open dif, YES. So don't get your panties in a knot BIG GUY!!
BTW your still in 2 wheel drive when the front tire is of the ground if you have a open rear dif.
