So, I had to modify the opening in the firewall, and the kit came with a bracket to move the steering shaft over 9/16" of an inch.
For some reason, I was more apprehensive about cutting the firewall than I was about cutting off the engine mounts .......... I dunno why.
But, I now know where the Infinity amp is ......... under the steering column in the dash. And I also now know that you have to be a freakin contortionist to be able to reach up into the dash to unbolt the intermediate shaft from the steering wheel/firewall. I don't know that my back will ever be the same again.
The list of install instructions is getting shorter .................

I think it may have something to do with the fact that the image is being posted as an attachment, for some reason. Maybe because it is hosted here?
Maybe try uploading it to photobucket or some other pic hosting site, then link to it??
I dunno, that's all I got..................

So, I have had to turn a wrench on any vehicle I have ever owned. When you're poor and your sh!t breaks, you just have to learn how to fix it. Bailing wire and duct tape can fix just about anything. With this swap, I was intimidated at first. I haven't ever done anything this drastic to a vehicle. Especially not a 3 year old one ............ but, so far, it really has been pretty straight forward. I can't say enough good things about the AEV kit. It is very thorough and just about complete. The instructions are great, and there is a plethora of information on the interwebs to help with it as well. If I wasn't such a slacker, the swap would have been done months ago.

That being said, I haven't fired it up yet. So, the gremlins are bound to show up sooner or later ..................

I am glad that I have been able to contribute something today. I am smart. I am funny. And, dog-gone it, people like me.
