Any of you guys that work on Redstone know if there are Army aviation units there? Ive been looking at jobs in the HSV area for UH-60M and have come across a few there. Just curious if they have just a few helos there or a whole unit. The short time I spent there makes me want to move back. I loved the area there. Working for Sikorsky Aircraft is great, but the weather and LOOONG winter here in Watkins Glen makes me not want to stay in NY for another winter. I figure its cold 7 mos out of the year here minimum.

No units, in the sense of the words that us military would call "units". Redstone Test Center (RTC) is now what used to be Aviation Technical Test Center (ATTC) at Ft Rucker for the Test Pilots. It has moved here to Redstone and consolidated with another organization now called RTC. RTC falls under Army Test & Evaluation Command (ATEC).
You also have Aviation Missile Command (AMCOM), and several Program Management Offices under PEO Aviation here.

 

Gotcha, thanks for the rundown. So the job is on OT&E aircraft, no deploying units. Sounds like a good deal.
