Sorry Jim, the Jeep bug is biting you. Next you'll want to change the gearing, get armor ,winch, wheels, tires, uprade axles, lockers and then you still will want more. It just never ends. Oh, there is also the new tools you'll need.
Here are a few shots of the trip out to Moab.
Convoy after the rendezvous north of Nashville.

One of many gas stops.

St. Louis.

Great place for wind turbines - it was windy as all get out.

Time for more gas in a snowy west Kansas. One of the guys from South Dakota, who was on the JK-forum ride, said that a blizzard forced them off the interstate for awhile.

At the top of the pass, and through Eisenhower Tunnel on I70.

At least we were getting good gas mileage (dstack got the best).

Over the Rockies and heading through 12.5 miles of Glenwood Canyon.

After two days of driving in nasty weather, we awake to a beautiful morning in Moab and find that Wayoflife and most of the SoCal group are our neighbors.

Edit: Looks like Eddie captured a pic of Wilbur in the background when snapping a shot of Moby Dick.

Hey Wilky...sent you a PM earlier. Guess you missed it.
Saw your SF crest avatar and was curious if you went to the Q-course or just like using the avatar.
I went to the Q-course in 83-84. Was an 18B in A/3/10th SFG(A) and C/3/12th SFG(A) 84-89.

Looks like some storms rollin in, in that picture. Did you guys hit any bad weather while there or on the trip at all? I know you headed out of HSV when we had that bad line of storms coming through. Gary, you need to go to lunch with us tomorrow so we can hear about the trip.
Sand it down and then my recommendation would be to use a primer. Some folks have been using the Duplicolor spray on bedliner, it is flat black. Gives it a textured look though. Otherwise, any good quality flat black will do.
Take a look at this thread for some ideas:
