I think it was one of the best places in the South for variety, views (especially if you've ever been on top looking out at Weiss Lake), and for the casual management approach which allowed folks to drive around without too much restriction. Sad to see it close.

If that's a glimpse of the future - all the parks are eventually going to be forced to shut down.

I'm gonna get in touch with the owner of the property and see if I can't lease it for hunting.
I will need a bunch of people to join the hunting lease if it works out if you know what I mean.
If we could get 15 to 20 people in on the hunting lease. I think it would be fairly cheap per person. Just a thought.

That's a great idea! Make a separate thread if this develops.

I know there is a hunting club that already leases the top of the mountain. Maybe we could lease the bottom (with all the great trails) and get access to the top when hunting season is finished. I'd love to camp up there where they have the fantastic views.

Also would be a great place for forum members from around the country to come visit as we could let them ride almost any time.

If someone brings a grill grid, we could maybe do some burgers, brats, etc. over a fire (unless everything is soaking wet from the rain coming through). As you guys know, the park is about 15-20 minutes from civilization so we'll be on our own once we're inside.

I have a grill grid. I have been checking the report, looks like the rain chances are diminishing.

Personally I like the idea of on your own for lunch stuff but breakfast/dinner all together everyone pitches in and brings shit and we do like a before ride/after ride meals, it might be easier if we maybe gave a certain amount of cash to 1 person and they did the shopping... I don't know Im just spitballing here.... I know if no one wants to do that I might end up bringing some MREs for myself and calling that good. Easy, little trash, highly filling.

But its whateva.... I just need to know before Friday morning when I go out and stock up.

Who else is PUMPED AS FUCK FOR THIS TRIP!?
