BARTOW | Polk County commissioners voted unanimously Wednesday to buy a 200-acre tract in southwest Polk for a new off-road vehicle park.
The county is buying the property for $100,000 from the phosphate mining company Mosaic. It is on the south side of County Road 630 near Ft. Green Road, which is south of Bradley.
Leisure Services Director Don Wilson said it will be at least three years before the park will open. The county has $130,000 set aside to design the park, but no money has been designated to build it.
The project has been under consideration for several years in response to requests by off-roading enthusiasts.
The land-purchase agreement also will include an option on an additional 335 acres north of CR 630.

Sounds pretty cool! I currently don't own a Jeep (my first car was a 95 Wrangler) but am planning on selling my Frontier when I get back from Air Force basic training and Tech School. Hopefully this actually happens and we'll all get to go try it out!
