Default Sirius Radio Dot Micro Car Antenna

My sat signal was almost unusable after the rack install. I went with the Sirius Radio Dot Micro Car Antenna. it was under $9 at amazon. This plugged directly into the mygig on the 2011.

I also had to buy an external receiver antenna, sat on the cowl by my windshield wipers. Dramatically improved signal quality over the stock antenna with the rack over it.

Is the rack compatible with Shrockworks Modular JK Tire Carrier and LoD Signature Series Shorty with Tire Carrier (on the fence between these bumpers). Thanks.

I bought one not too long ago and installed it. wasn't that hard had some help from my neighbor, which did help. However I can't get the wind deflector to mount without it interfering with my windshield wipers. The deflector is too low and broke the driver side wiper blade. What can be done to get it to mount correctly without any interference on the wiper blades???? Other then that problem with the rack I do like it and will soon post some pics of what it looks like.

The wipper blades should not make contact wtih the deflector. The bottom edge of the deflector, where the rubber protector is, rests on the plastic protective tape supplied at the junction of the window and the body. This juncture is well above where the wipers make contact on the windshield. Check your brackets against the instillation pictures and make sure your wipers are sized right. If all is correct the brackets must be wrong for your Jeep placeing the deflector too low on your windshield. Hope this helps.

Sure enough looking back at the picture the brackets I have are bent in the wrong direction then the ones shown in the pic. Not to mention I don't have any side mounts for the deflector. The ones in the pic are shaped like a skewed "L" the brackets that I have are bent like a "7". So when it does mount the rubber portion of the deflector is down on the windshield itself were the wipers make contact with it.

m close to buying one of these racks, how much of a task is it to get the rack off so that I can get the hard top off??
I have had no problems with the top getting in the way. They supply a strap so that you can bring the rack back far enough, with the ladder on, so that you can remove the hardtop. I would ask a friend for help thou just to help prevent it from going too far back. The only issue with the top are the freedom panels. When I remove them I have to lift up the back end slid it back about an inch or two then lift the front to clear everything. Hope this helps.

Those skewed L's look like 7's turned upside down? did you get the recon or regular stealth gobi?

The freedom panels can come out without moving the rack back, you just have to take a couple extra seconds to guide them through the sunroof portion of the rack (this is if you do not have the extra sunroof portion installed on the rack).

and removing the hardtop is as easy as removing the rear ladder (or ladders if you have dual ladders) and sliding the hardtop out the back with two people takes only a minute or two.

I think he was talking about sliding the rear of the freedom panel up and back a little until the front of the freedom panel is clear of the rack. Not about tipping the rack back. Just a guess though.

I don't know about the Shrockworks, but the LoD shorty will work. The problem with the LoD shorty is the rear mounts for the Gobi will be sitting out on the side all by themselves. Functionally that is not a problem, but it will look weird and they are unprotected.
