Default Oval

After looking at both Im going to have to say Im all for the oval ones. I think they look better on the armor and im not a fan of the blacked out look on the round ones. I already said it before but I'll say it again, the sliders are a nice touch, I would definately get them with those.

The JK-Forum logo cut into the side or right underneath one of the tail lights would be an awesome touch.

I cant wait to see what you guys want to go with.

WOW I am in!!!! I cant decide on oval or round but im leaning toward oval lights. I think the only reason i like the round is because they are black. as far as a licence plate bracket I think alot of us that will see the value in these have already relocated our licence plates due to trail damage so i dont see a need for it. For me the slider bar is a must for the added protection, I would like to see it an inch or so lower on the side but im sure there are many reasons for where you put them. Build them now I will buy them now. I dont care if they are oval, round whatever they are great and I need the protection for the corners of my jeep

Thanks Yates and Steve for the thread on these looks like another great product!!!

Round, no plate bracket, with slider bar. I'd actually prefer the orf logo lasered in over the wheel well, showing body color through.

I'm in for a pre order.

I'm liking the side armor with the bar, round lights, but I thought the side armor would go from the corner to almost to the door. Like the silver jeeps. So a little longer. They still look sweet!
As for the bumper with oval lights and side armor with round lights would look a little off. An thoughts on making bumper lights round like the side armor? I would like to see ORF logo put into the side armor.
Maybe OR-Fab will make a reloc bracket for license plates to there tire carrier...just my 2cents

I'm 63 and accident prone. Recess the ovals a tad to give 'em more survivability or fab a cage for minimal protection. Sliders are a given. Already relocated the license plate so bracket not needed. I really like where you are going with this. I like everything you've shown so far, but would probably prefer the ovals, sliders and no bracket.

People keep asking for a target price. Don't know yet. If you look at our pricing policies we try to make things affordable. I believe we did a pre-order on this forum for our stinger bumper for $349. This will be a very similar deal.

I really like that slider bar and round lights. I would be game for something like this. The forum logo is a cool idea too!

Hi Yates,

Those are looking great! Here's my thoughts:

I love that there's no cutting involved.

I like the oval lights much better. I think they look much better with the narrow geometry of the rear quarters.

I like the sliders, but I would like it equally without them.

It sounds like a 50/50 split on the license plate bracket. It might be worth considering a template to mount the OEM bracket to the corners, or perhaps a molded piece that wouldn't have to be used that would require drilling through the corner piece.

Great work guys!

Micah

Hi Yates,

I love the slider bar!! I think it adds to the look and I have seen pictures of JK's that took some damage to that area that even though it was minor it screwed up the seal between the top and the jeep.

I definately prefer round lights over the oval ones but is there any way to use somehting other than the litedots? Every time I see them mounted on a vehicle there are burnt out led's and they are really expensive compared to the standard push in ones that all big trucks use. (I like it when the spare parts are available and innexpensive)

I LOVE the idea of the Project JK cut out!!! I can't believe no-one else thought of that before!

Edit* I'm 38 by the way

I'm 40, and I like the look of the oval better (especially with the oval lights in the new bumper.) There seems to be some weird correlation between age and choice of lights. To that, I will simply say the 40+ crowd obviously has better taste refined over more years of life experience.
