I installed these in my black jeep here in San Antonio. Granted I have full tint windows (factory rear hard top and 35% driver/passenger side), but I do believe these liners have helped reduce the mid-day heat in the cabin (emanating from the roof) and provides for faster overall cooling (wife swears it is faster than her Volvo XC-90).

Is it an icebox? No, however I would guestimate at least 5-10 degrees cooler in the cab considering it reaches 100+ routinely here--and I would imagine it is in excess of those temps in the NM-AZ areas as well.

As an aside, I think the audio sound is slightly improved as well--but nothing other than my ear is the guide--and I'm tone deaf.

I'm a fairly tough skeptic--don't buy in to CAIs, "magic" oils, etc, but I would absolutely buy these again.

PS...I was going to paint the hardtop ceiling black before I installed the headliners (mine are charcoal). For some reason I installed them w/o painting, and to be honest, the remaining white trim doesn't bother me like I thought it would. Not criticizing anyone who as gone all black--if I didn't have the liners I'm sure I would too--just an observation from my end to share...

PSS...Do yourself a favor when you install them--take your hardtop off the jeep...its a great excuse to go topless and the install is that much easier...

I am seriously considering this as my next purchase. It's 98 degrees in KC today, heat just radiates off that hardtop - not good when you have a bald dome

Dang! I should have waited for the sale!
However...having had my new hardtop just installed on Friday, I put the Hothead Headliner on, on Saturday. Took only about 20-25 minutes and works great! Mark and the guys over there pretty much made it idiot-proof, with the stencils and videos available for help with the install. Here's a few pics:

looks really good. how much does the hot headliner cut down on noise inside of the cab? i will be getting me one probably next month to gear up for winter time. the old lady hates how there is soo much noise in the cab with just the soft top.

Thanks...that was actually more of an issue for me than the heat loss was, and more of a reason for the initial purchase. I went from just a soft top to the hard top and liner, and it cuts WAY down on the noise level, IMO. Haven't done any actual tests, per se, (we'll leave that to Mark Ambrose to do those!) but it just definitely sounds better to me (and more importantly...to her.)

Oh...and it also helps with the heat. (A nice side benefit!)

Like others my rear panel just fall off awhile ago today. This is only the 3rd day since I installed it. Gonna call Mark and see what can be done.

OK, I called Mark and discussed the issue. He assured me he would stand by the product. For now I decided to wait and see if it happened again. It did seem to seat better when I put it back, then it did when I originally installed it. NOTE: He suggested I take a square of cardboard and press hard thru it to seat the panel firmly without putting finger/palm marks all over. So I did that to all the panels. If it happens again I will recontact him. Since I live close and actually picked up the liners in person, he offered to reinstall it himself if I drive down there. Which I will do if necessary.

I am hoping that this resolves the issue as I like these panels very much. They look better than factory, and I have already noticed an improvement in heat and sound issues.

I do love my headliners. So far the average temps that I have had my JK out in here in Abu Dhabi have been 45C - 48C with an average of 38C in my underground parking. I have not had any above 50C personally but summer isn't over for us yet. I just noticed my rear board was down partially this past Tuesday so I reseated it. I think this is the hook and loop issue that was identified some months ago but the other four panels (I have the side panels too) are still holding strong with no issues noted. Still a very very happy camper - thanks Mark!
