Default It's finally here!!! 1.25" Body lifts!!

Hey guys we have finally got in all the parts for our 1.25" body lifts for the JK's. Our new body lift is made out of fiberglass reinforced nylon which remarkably didn't crush until 8800lbs of force was put on it so the JK body shouldn't be a problem. You can see in the picture that we designed the body block to utilize all the factory mounting points creating more secured and balanced body lift. Where this kit really comes in handy is for you guys with 2.5"s of lift already that want to be able to use a 35" tire and better yet the kit is $99.95 for 2 doors and 109.95 for 4 door JKs. IF you guys have any questions please feel free to ask...

What kind of issues does the extra .25 cause for those of us with 6 spds? I know some guys have had issues with the 1" MORE lifts and others.

There are none that I am aware of it just requires some trimming of the inner shift boot. We have put that in the instruction sheets. Here is a link to the instruction sheet. http://www.roughcountry.com/install/rc600.pdf

reading through here there have been several people who have had massive problems with shifting in the 6spd after doing the 1" BL's. People have have to bend the shifter, completely remove the inner boot, or slide the jeep back on the frame in order for it to work. Is there anything that makes yours any different? so that these problems arn't encountered? if so maybe I will pick up your BL instead of the PA one I have ordered. thanks

Unfortunetly we have the same issue, but we have found a way to reslove it. If click on the aforementioned instruction sheet link there are some pics of how we corrected the problem. It simply takes two little cuts to provide enough slack/relief for the shifter to be able to move in to the back position. Easy fix and not to horrific on the boot.

A body lift isn't an extremely complicated system and just due to its nature it will always create a problem with the 6spds. If your afraid of what might happen stick to coils. but then they have their own problems as you have to buy trackbars, arms, shocks, and other parts to make them work. Theres no real perfect simple and cheap way to do it.

I will say this...if you guys have ever been involved with a body lift on other vehicles this one is totally different. No radiator fan shroud relocation or any other brackets. It can be knocked out in just a couple of hours if you have a friend helping. I this kit will work great for those with budget boost that may have bought a tire that was just a little too big. Idk my 2 cents.

I do like the looks of this body lift. Having read all the concerns over BLs, and watching how RC tries to solve other issues, I think you need to complete your thoughts on this BL. I am putting on a 2" BB this weekend, and I would like to get a BL for the larger tires. I took my 6spd shifter apart to look at what everyone is talking about. I have a couple of ideas.

1) There is a foam pad between the top of the trans and the body. If you included a 1" to 1-1/4" dounut of similar foam (or a full replacement if the factory is not attached), that could eliminate some of the dicomfort of people cutting thier inner boot. You have now resealed the cab from the undercarraige.
2) What about offering a modified shifter? It only bolts onto the transmission's lever. It should be easy to either design a poly mount with an integral clamp for a new RC shifter handle. Or a small metal "S" shaped adapter to mount the stock shifter with isolator in a higher location..

Just putting out some ideas.

So, I bought this kit and I'm getting ready to install. A couple Jeep shops have both given me some warning about the fan shroud.

As a novice, I'm assuming that by your post here, the radiator and fan shroud do not move, so there is no rubbing issues or trimming required?

Just want to make sure before I get into it!

Thanks for all the support!
