Default Just finished install... more on that L8R

Just, got everything installed yesterday. Pretty easy install, waiting for modified tune though (that process sucks!) so running in limp mode.

Install was straight-forward, ran into only 2 small issues. Took about 8 hours.

Going to review the whole process as soon as I get my updated predator tuning.

RIPP, you guys are killing me here.

Supercharger kit $4094...
Day off of work to install Supercharger Kit $660....
Band-aids for the few wounds received installing Supercharger kit $2.44...
Satisfaction of installing your own supercharger kit $$$$$$

Waiting 4+ days for a few lines of code so your jeep with Supercharger kit can run (properly)...
Priceless

I guess Diablosport just has them/me by the Balls at this point...

is this the gen2 version? hmmmm I think i like that better keeping the battery in the stock location.

Yeah, Gen2 Stage I (w/o intercooler) It's very clean setup, basically takes up the space of the stock airbox

Whats the deal with the code issue. I read an other post elsewhere with same story. How long till its good to go?

Why did it seem to be ready for release but not working correct in real world?

I can't really speak for RIPP, but the kit seems very well put together even the packaging was thought out. But the instructions need a little more clarification with regards to sequence IMHO.

There are basically a hardware (Blower, piping, injectors, vac, MAP sensor) and software (predator w/ custom maps) component to the complete install.

All hardware is included in the shipment, as well as the tool (predator) to do the programming. What's missing is the actual software (lines of code, "maps") that make the system (esp bigger injectors/modified MAP sensor) work properly.

Like if you bought a computer without an Operating System, you'd have a nice doorstop, until you load windows, Mac OS, or another operating system.

Therein lies my problem. I did not send my file to RIPP until, I reached that point in the instructions, which is after all the hardware install.

That process looks like this:
You need to Read/Backup your stock software from your ECU, send it to RIPP (email), who in turn send it to Diablosport. They Hack your file with RIPPs custom programming then send it back to ripp, who sends it back to you. You upload it to your predator (from Computer) then flash your ECU.

SO I wait for the software to make my jeep whole again. (It's running worse than my 1976 Murray Lawnmower)

I guess RIPP will be able to sell pre-loaded software once Diablosport let's them, but until then I'm at the mercy of Diablosports engineers (whom I bet are only modifying one line of code "VIN", at least I don't think they're providing a custom tune for each customer)

If you go through a dealer it's probably a different story, They have the tools to change the code directly. BUT if your doing it yourself you NEED to do the software portion of the install BEFORE the hardware or expect downtime, or be like me having to drive on a limited basis waiting for the "Magic" e-mail.

Other than that, the kit is great, easy to install, over-engineered (in a good way), even well packaged. I do not think they cut any corners, and price, well don't need to say anything there.

We are in a transition period - we have old base mapping that we've sent all over - that mapping is thorough but requires a few tweaks - In the interim we've been working on a second wave of tuning and seeing the upgrades we want to send that out - engineers being engineers they take their time and lend no mercy to the gods of want... so we are simply making it better but stuck in anticipation...

Well got my tune this morning...
so glad too, I take back everything I said about the programming being simple, there's a lot going on inside that little black box we call an ecu.

All I can say is this thing flies, I do believe there are some improvements to be made in the tune, as stated they're working on it (I think having it tuned to your vehicle/Altitude/Gas Quality by a tuner with a dyno would be money well spent). But in about 100 miles of driving, there were several times that everything seems to be lined up and then and it slams you back into the seat like a V8... Actually better than a V8 because it winds up so much quicker.

Thanks RIPP best 4k I've spent on my jeep period.
