It's like 95% internal only a small % is subject to impacts with tree branches!

Default new bumper

Hey RR, not to steer too far off subject but I really like the new bumper in the pictures above. Do you know if it will clear my front reciever hitch? Looks to be about the same size as the factory bumper from top to bottom.

My problem is the d rings. I don't like that design and how they are not quickly removable. I would much prefer the plate to have a simple place to attach a standard d ring. It looks very hummer like. But besides that I really like it.

[QUOTE=Rugged_Ridge;2663023]Here are a couple new shots of the snorkel.

I was liking the look of this snorkel until I seen this photo. I don't like how the finish on it looks uneven and globby like someone cast it in the mold and sent it straight to the paint shop instead of a little machining/finishing work to make it look nice. It doesn't take much to throw the part on a belt grinder for a few quick swipes to make it look much more even/refined. That's what I did with the latch that came with my XHD rear bumper/tire carrier, and then repainted it myself. If this snorkel had a nice even textured finish like on the XHD bumpers (not the latch part) I would totally get it though.....I'm just kinda picky that way. I am a knifemaker and it makes me the sort of person who notices finishing details such as this. I like like Rugged Ridge products, but I would be willing to pay more money their stuff if they were finished with a little more attention to detail. Looking from a distance though, it is a great looking, functional design as is most all of their stuff.

ok back to the snorkel... don't make me buy an AEV snorkel ... will this be out before the Christmas holidays?

Doing some major repairs and would love to install this snorkel while I am at it.

I have never been disappointed with RR in the past and I am sure this is going to live up to all the expectations

I think this has been asked already but I didn't see an answer..
Will this work with the RR dual battery tray? doesn't seem like there'd be any room left after I installed that... Also, any way to get windshield light mount added in the general vicinity? I love that the light bar will still work but I have windshield lights too and would rather not loose those..

Main question is... Battery tray... Thanks! =)

from what I have seen, and where the problem is at with this being delayed coming out, is that it is not your typical cowell snorkel to come out, its not going to bypass the battery like others have. What it seems RR is attempting to do is have a slim tubing system that goes between the outter and inner fender liners and then come in from the wheel well to attach directly to the existing stock airbox. requiring no movement or tampering of your engine compartment/components. RR wants to get it right and have it work flawlessly, I am nervious with excitement waiting for this product but willing to wait til they have it right.

so no, it shouldnt affect your dual battery tray, someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe somewhere in this massive thread RR explained it.

I've browsing through the thread looking for how it will look like.
Found this prototype photo:

I have to agree with RR's own assessment that the product's finish still has long ways to go. That area around the silver plate looks like crushed cardboard. And the overall finish looks very irregular.
Sorry for being blunt, but whichever company you guys are contracting to do the molds still has a long way to go in terms of learning how to build them. I used to design plastic and metal parts in the beginning of my career and can tell where some mistakes are being made.
Anyway, still looking forward to seeing how the final product will look like. My vote is to wait more if it means fixing that stuff. ;-)

it works with the dual battery tray because it bypasses that area going underneath

it's all good I plan on going with the dual batter tray as well
