I've been trolling this thread for a month now...if it gets built and price is ~400 or less I will probably own one within 6 months.

This is the best snorkle design so far imo.

Tooling cost / return on investment
Life cycle of future sales
retail cost / margins needed (if it cost too much to cover tooling no one will buy!)

And the list goes on.... Just trying to keep you guys in the loop. Don't want to set the wrong expectation.

God I hope I'm not wrong..

I understand the investment -return issues here,, rotomolding tooling is very expensive, god knows till when this snorkel will fit in the future wranglers,
its better to fabricate a new accesorie when the jeep line is just realesed and get
the investment return and maybe a profit, some accesories never make a profit,"their just a source of income" to keep busy in away.

this reminds me of all the interior dash accesories outthere that no longer work on the 20011 dash. all those lines of accesiries will never see a proft, maybe a loss
is more like it.

I t will be nice to have some secret info on the future evolution of the wrangler this
way you cant go wroung.
like AEV new how about the jk, "their heat reduction hood was design with the snorkel intake way before spy pictures " ...

yours is a great design with a less invasive aproach , but their are already alteast 4 snorkels outthere already, wish makes a saturated market.

6 months?... I'd buy one almost immediately. At least, I'd plan to.
I know it's not as practical, but I really like the shorter version. Especially if it has the option to be switched out to the tall one as necessary. I don't like the idea of driving around with a tall snorkel/giraffe neck attached all the time.

I also want to note that I am holding back on a snorkel purchase until your decision is made regarding production.

Whichever route you choose, thanks for the info and keeping us involved in the product cycle!

Default snorkel design

one that would come with an option that asks if you have a stock or aftermarket air intake and than be able to choose if you could get a whole new, air tight air box to fit around the intake.

also should be able to work with those of us who have light racks above our winshields

This will cover at least 5 model years, though it will likely be closer to 10. I don't see how they(Chrysler/Jeep) can do much to alter the appearance of the vehicle and maintain its "bloodline." If RR's final product is close to the drawings, I would definitely get this mod. If Jeep does anything after the current alteration it will be the Pentastar/Phoenix engine, and that is slated for 2012. I believe the air-box is on the same side of the vehicle so that ought not be an issue for RR. Even if the air-box isn't on the same side, putting a snorkel on the driver side doesn't seem to be a good idea.

I love it. I've never been one who thought I'd want a snorkel but I'll buy this one the day it comes out!
