Default 07 JK Starting

I have an 07 with a starting issue. Would like to here some ideas. About three years ago I started to have intermittent starting issues. I try to start and only hear the starter turning over. I try 4 or 5 times and it will start. Sometimes it would be daily sometimes a few months before it did it again. I took it into the dealer after about a year. It would not do it for them so they replaced the starter. Well it still did it a few months later. After dealing with it a bit longer I replaced the starter again myself. Nope! There are times it could go months without the issue. Thinking I might have just had a bad batch or starters I was thinking of trying another starter. Well with a recent stock engine replacement I got a new starter about a month ago. So, it brings us to today. The last week or so I have been having the issue very regularly. Every other time I get in the jeep to 4th or 5th start try. Dealer says they can not help unless it does it for them and I do not want them guessing and paying for things I do not need done. I really can not wait until it finally dies in the middle of no where. Any help would be appreciated. I have tried to track it with times dates and etc but no real pattern. the only difference I have seen recently is it has been really humid versus our typical dry climate. Just grasping at straws. THANKS

I'm in the same boat. About a year and a half to two years ago my 08 did the same thing. Went to the dealer they said the starter was bad. I never replaced it and it stopped. Now it's doing it again . But that's why we love them. I'll be looking for the threads you talked about. Thanks

Does it almost seem like a dead battery when you first turn the key?

Had this issue too. I ran a 4g ground wire from the battery directly to the alternator bolt. Haven't had the issue since. Good luck. A lot of threads on issues like this. Hopefully this helps.

Mine does. I turn the key 2 or 3 time then turn it back all the way. It usually starts after that.

Checked Battery and Alternator, both working fine.

Yep. Mine has been doing the exact same thing. Did it this morning first key turn, started 3 times since with no problems.

Funny to stumble across this thread! My '08 jeep has started doing this lately and i thought the starter was going. Yesterday I thought for sure the starter was shot when it wouldn't start.. and then it fired right up after a few minutes of sitting.

I think I have the same issue also. When I get in the jk to start it it turns over slightly. Almost sounds like the starter is getting stuck. All I have to do is touch the transmission shifter slightly. Really just tap it or even move it from park to neutral and it starts right up. I have a brand new starter in the box but since it starts up by just jiggling the shifter, I don't think that's the issue.
