As for the 07 steering wheel trick you have to get your JK's ECU re-flashed and then you can do the steering wheel trick. I read some posts on jeepforum and they said it worked no sweat.
Yes. That kills the ABS, ESP, BAS, blah blah blah. I rarely turn it off on the road. When I go offroad though I ususally turn it off.

X2....I do the exact same thing....use when I want to play, other than that I rather keep the safety features for on road driving....

Default ESP Switch

I wired up my ESP module on a switch as described earlier in the thread so I can fully disable it when needed.I couldn't get the "secret code method" to work. even after the dealership flashed the computer. It will be better for the deep snow, mud or for when I just want to play. It works great, when the switch is closed the ESP/ABS works as advertised, but when the switch is open it fully disables the ESP and ABS. They will remain disabled until the switch is closed and the Jeep is shut off and restarted. There are three of the associated amber caution lights on in the dash when the systems are disabled. It not very complicated to do, took me aboit 1.5 hrs, just because I am so fussy doing stuff.

Now go drift and do donuts....winter play is now sooooo much fun without the stupid ABS kicking in all the time

Easy mod to do

I have been following this issue for about a year now, and have never heard from anybody that it works on an '07. I thought Jeep would have corrected the issue by now . I think I will go get a switch this weekend.

I have an 07.......I went to the dealer for a flash and even printed off the TSB, and both refused to do it,........this was last summer......I dont know of anyone who was able to do the "steering wheel jig" on an 07....

The switch is the best way to go IMO

My dealer originally refused to do it but took it back yesterday and they will now do it. The deal is they can't disable it for you, but they assured me they tested it to see if it would work, re-enabled it and gave it back to me.

Does anyone know what should happen when I start back up my vehicle? Does is say "ESP disabled" everytime you start your jeep?

I was able to get my 07 to display "ESP disabled" but it still activated it when I went around a corner fairly fast. It's better than it was but the ESP still activates even when it is turned off. I am thinking I may have to try it again and maybe recenter my steering wheel...

I got my Jk flashed today. the tech told me he tested it and it goes off and back on but said HE couldn't leave it off. but when i tried myself i couldnt't get it to turn off. I got the odometer to read espoff after the first half turn to the right but then when i turned it to the left i could't get it to chime again and hence didn't work. not sure what im doing wrong. dealer did give me directions on exactly how to do it and i was reading right off their directions.

Yup I had the same problem. I was able to get mine to say ESP OFF in the center and both directions, by not following the directions exactly. However I still do not know if my ESP is OFF... I can take corners faster and do full on burn outs but it still activates if I take a corner fully getting it...
