Default 2-door backseat headrest removal

The backseat headrest on my 2011 2-door are so large, it is hard to see out the back. I haven't tried yet, but are the backseat headrests removable? If so, do they just pull straight out or is there some trick to removing them?

Thanks for your help.

probably just like the rest of the headrests, little button on the collar at the top of the seat/bottom of the headrest rod. push it in and pull em out.

Yes removing them is like the front ones. There are small buttons at the base of both poles on the head rest mounts you push in. Pretty much you have to get one in and then the other. Then the head rests come right out. I either remove mine or fold the rear seat down, but not tumbled up. to get them out of the line of sight.

On mine there are opposing buttons on the base(s). Squeeze with your forfinger and thumb to release. If you have to force it you havent got the buttons in far enough. If you force it, the plastic base will come off with the headrest. Quess how I know.

I also pulled mine the first day I bought the Jeep. They are freakin HUGE. All it took was one attempt at backing the Jeep into my driveway and I yanked them off and haven't put them back on.

Just push the little adjuster button and yank them out.

I saw one write up on a guy who figured out how to leave them in, but they could swing down and out of your line of sight. That way when someone rides in the backseat (because youre leaving it in for some odd reason ) the chance of a neck injury in an accident is reduced by having the head rest.
