Question 2 Door Jeep Hard Top

Hi all. Is there an option to get a hardtop for a 2 door jk that is not a freedom top? Just a one piece top without the multiple panels? I am thinking of getting a 2007 JK that has a soft top now but might try to get the dealer to throw in a hard top and am concerned with leak issues like everyone else. Is this a possibility or is there an aftermarket one piece hardtop for the JK?

I believe that Bestop makes an aftermarket one piece top.... In over a year of owning my 2 door, I have not had a single leak issue.

ditto....i have a four door freedom top i purchased used from a member of the forum and it has not leaked a drop. The thing you have to remember is that you generally only hear from the people having problems with the given equipment...you don't hear about all the tops that don't leak at all. It would suck to get one that was defective, but I would bet the odds are in your favor in getting one that works fine.

If you are really concerned test drive the Jeep you are interested in and take it through the car wash...Preferably one of the "do it yourselfers" and soak the areas where most of the leaks are happening.

Thanks for the responses. The one thing that concerns me is that this is a used 2007 JK that only has a soft top. If the dealer were to throw in a hard top with the purchase there is no way of knowing whether it will be a brand new one or if it will be a used one off another Jeep in the lot. The freedom top is awesome, I just want a one piece to be on the safe side.

2 dr. freedom top here, 6 months, no leaks. Keep in mind you only here about the ones that leak, not the ones that don't, which is probably the majority.

Keep this in mind too.... I've seen more posts *lately* about leaky soft tops than I have about leaky hard tops.

No leak here either but subscribed to see what's out their for options. I'll never use the freedom top option and would prefer a solid Hard top instead just to simplify the interior.
