If the dealer is "throwing in" a hard top just take it. I think when i got my JK it was an extra 800 to get a hard top and another 1200 for the dual top (somewhere around those prices, it was around 6 months ago). I had my hard top on for a month in the middle of summer and then from the fall till now and it has only dripped (one or two dropplets) a few times in the center. Plus you will more then likely only use the hard top in the winter when it is too cold to leak. TAKE THE FREE HARD TOP!!! If it leaks give it to me and I will sell it to someone for a couple hundred bucks and i will even tell them it leaks.

Don't trivialize the problem for those of us that have serious issues. or do that's your prerogative. But keep in mind that there is a serious issue for many, me included. I assure you it's more than a few drips. It's a serious problem and I am not alone. And for the poster above. I get water leaks regardless of the weather temperature.

My dealer hasn't solved the freedom top leak yet. They did the tsb for it and my leak is now worse and I actually have wind noise where the tops meet in the center. I am in Maine so the hard top is must in the winter, but in about 3 weeks the soft top goes on. I do want the leak fixed before the warranty is up.

I've had my 2dr hardtop for about a year now, and I've never had any problems with leaks or rattles.

Default Any Suggestions

I have a 07 2-door Wrangler that I bought last March. I purchased it with the soft top that will not go back on correctly after the first time I took it off. This means when I'm on the highway doing more that 50mph it is like a wind tunnel inside my Jeep. Any suggestions on how to get it back on correctly, I have tried just about everything. I am planning on buying a Freedom top, but I can't decide on which manufacturer to go with. I am shopping off quadratec because it looks like the most respectable Jeep site to purchase something. I see that the Bestop top come with the wire harness and that shipping is free, so it only around $2,300. And from what I have seen with Mopar is that it DOES NOT come with the wire harness and is about $2,500-$2,600 all said and done. Can anyone give me some insight on which type of top is better? And does anyone know a better way to get that damn soft top on better? I appreciate your responses.

Convince MellisCJ to buy the used JK (with the dealer throwing in the hard top). Then buy the hard top from him for 500-800 then buy the needed wirering harness seperate.

Default Which is better?

Does anyone know the differnece betwen the Mopar and Bestop hardtops? Is it just the price or is one manufactured better thatn another? I'm looking to buy one. Also, is anyone else having a problem getting their windows on the 07 Wrangler to stay on right? It is the biggest pain in the ass i can never get is back on correctly, so that when I do more then 50mph to window seal brakes and it like a wind tunnel inside. This is the 2 back windows not the front. Any suggestions on how get them on right?? Appreciate your responses.

Question I have....why is the hardtop a less than $700 option from the factory, and an over $2G price after the fact? I just don't get it?
