Default 2007 wrangler ~ towing ?

I just bought a 2007 wrangler x with a 6speed manual 3.8 6cyl and was wondering if it would handle pulling a 4x8 open trailer with a rider mower on it and a few tools edger ,weed eater ect ect. I have a 6 x 10 inclosed trailer but I was scared to try and hook that one up to it I amd going to trade it in on an open 4x8 if the jeep would handle it and not ruin the jeep, any info would be AWESOME !

Try the trailor you have first they tow more than you think and if the trailor is loaded properly with the correct hitch you will have no problems

Take it easy and you'll be just fine.

My dad has pulled his 21-foot skiboat with a 1990 Chevy Astro for years. The boat and trailer weigh about 4,000 pounds and I guarantee that van isn't rated to tow that much.

First do you have a 2dr or unlimited. I have a 2dr and tow a 4x6 trailer with a mower. I also used the same trailer to haul a fridge, washer and dryer about 60 miles. Don't ask how I loaded it, I should have taken a picture of that.

My daughter towed a 4x8 utility trailer with my 07 2dr from Southern California to Yakima, Washington. I bought the trailer (harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=90154) from Harbor Freight. Unfortunately she overloaded the trailer with way to much furniture and personal belongings. The Jeep did fine, the trailer not so. It probably would have been better if she did not keep driving for several miles after she lost a wheel on the trailer. She did pull over after noticed the fireworks show behind her. And yes, I still lover her. I just hope she returns my Jeep during the upcoming Christmas vacation as promised.

I think you would be fine with the enclose trailer that you have now. You don't have very much in it. I would hook up to the trailer that you have and take for a little test drive. See how it handles and what you think about it. Unless of course you will be making money off of the deal or you just don't want that big of a trailer anymore. I would take her out for a test drive and see how she handles.

Doesn't sound like much, but whether you have a two-door or an Unlimited, and the gear ratio you have will determine how safely and effectively you can tow with it.

Look in your Jeep's manual for the weigh limits
