Default 2011 jk trans cooler

I've been reading the horror stories of jku auto trans meltdowns. In one thread someone stated the 2011 model should not have this problem. Is this true or am I gonna be looking at the same issues as the older jk owners.
If there was a fix in the 2011 model year what was it. If not then do I need to be concerned or should I just let warranty take care of it the install a cooler.

Unless they start fitting seperate aux trans oil coolers to JKs at the factory, I'd buy one for the $60-odd bucks they cost plus fitting or do it yourself. I've read here that they plan to enlarge the cooler they stick in the aircon condenser but that isn't a proper fix. Fit the aux cooler for your own peace of mind.

the trans cooler is fitted in the A/C condenser? here i always thought it was in the radiator... maybe thats why the AirCon in my 2010 auto is JUNK compared to the last 2 JK's which were manual shift...

The trans cooler is attached to the lower part of the condenser, in front of the radiator.

My A/C will freeze my hands if I direct the air toward the steering wheel.

Is the ac button supposed to help with window fogging?
To stay on topic, I didn't see and aux. cooler at any of the 2011's I looked at.

What they did last year was to do a reflash that adds a "hot oil" warning when things heat up too much.

Not really a fix...just a bandaid.

Another member reported that he got a hot oil warning on his 2011:

He hasn't posted a followup to let us know if the additional reflash actually made the problem go away.

I got an 08 and an Aeroforce gauge. With the cooler I can wheel all day and never have a problem. Trans never gets over 200.

Put a cooler in yours. If you wheel without one the tranny will over heat. If you push it after it overheats it will spill fluid on the exhaust pipe and it can catch fire.

Once thing you can do is run the ac when you wheel, it does make a difference in the tranny temp.
