Default 2011 knocking!!!

what's up people? I have a 2011 JKU, and there is a knocking sound in the engine at low RPM's and while going up hills. now I have tried the techron, my jeep has been well maintained and I use shell gas only. I know the ECM is set for 87 oct and I have used 89. I've taken it to the dealer since she is still under warranty, and they "can't" hear anything. I NEED HELP BEFORE SERIOUS DAMAGE IS DONE!!

It could be carbon buildup on the valves. Go to the dealer and get a $10 can of Chrysler combustion chamber cleaner. Spray contents directly in to throttle body with engine running then shut it off and allow it to sit for a few hours. Then go drive the crap out of it. Won't hurt to run a can of sea foam through the gas tank either. See if this helps

Did any of that help? I've had My 07 for two months and got the oil changed 11 days ago after a trip from Ohio to Florida and back with no issues. 3 days ago i started to hear a knocking/rattling noise while accelerating from 2nd to 3rd after I've been driving for a bit. I've got almost 41000 miles. Had the oil checked after i checked it looks good I put 5w30 in it but i get no noise just revving the motor only under load.

Yes it helped. Also, is your motor using oil?

No I'm not using oil. I'll give both of those a shot tomorrow and see what happens.

My '11 JKU and my '10 JK both did this. In all cases it was while under load (up hills, towing, oversized tires, etc.) Figured the motor just didn't have grunt. Fine if unloaded but start loading things up and the knock comes back. That was my experience anyway. The '11 wasn't as bad as the '10. One forum member suggested checking the exhaust shields up near the motor - rattle could sound like knocking. Easy enough to check.

ok i have used the Chevron Techron in this order and the knocking is almost gone

on a quarter of a tank get the "up to 7 gallon treatment" $7.99 @ autozone. drive until empty.

fill up and get the "up to 20 gallon treatment". i am now back at a qtr tank and the knocking is minimal and she accelerates better than when i first bought her.

i will use the "up to 20 gallons" on my next fill up and the knocking should be completely gone. after this 3 step treatment be sure to us the Techron at every oil change! that damn ethanol!!!

AND!! i ONLY use SHELL GAS 87 oct because that is what the ECM is set for!!!!

Thank you ALL for the Advice!!!!!
