Default 2012 Still ticking what to do next???

So I have had my jeep in 2 times for service for ticking the replaced lifters and phasers the first time. 2nd time they contacted star and star told them to check a few things he did say they did a leak down test and measured lifter bore and they said everything was within spec. So they had me pick up my jeep and said engine sound is normal. I don't believe the tick is normal and after reading multiple threads about other people getting heads replaced there definitely seems to be a issue. Any advice on how I should pursue this further. Here is a video of what my engine currently sounds like after picking it up from the dealer after 2nd service

Default Ticking?

RUN FOR IT!!! Just kidding, You have to speak to the dealership principle or GM. Then call corporate and write them a letter too. Good luck don't give up! If all else fails, get Amsoil.

Try a thicker engine oil, 10w-30.

May contact the GM or chrysler and see what they say I would like them to fix the issue vs me putting band aides on the problem

Default Band aide?

Brother, Good oil is not a band aid. Check out Amsoil even if or after the dealer checks it out. Amsoil won't hurt your warranty, The webb site really goes into detail of why it's so good and why it's been around for so long. I started useing it in the 70's on my dune buggy desert racer because my friends told me about the stuff. For me, it really works. Put in all my vehicles. My JK has to sit and idle a lot, nothing else keeps my engine as cool and as quiet. I get hundreds of thousands of miles out of my engines, I'm just sayin. Godd luck brother, see you on the trails

I agree good oil is always a good thing to use. But the ticking issue is a problem and Chrysler knows about it they should fix the problem. I shouldn't have to run special oil to have a non ticking engine.

My ticker Jeep is in the shop still. Been five days. Yesterday they replaced all of the lifters/tappets. After they put miles in the Jeep the ticking is still there. Obviously that DID NOT fix the problem. Now they are awaiting further direction from STAR as how to fix it. Obviously there is a problem or they wouldn't have ever taken it apart in the first place.

I will say my dealership has been great and I think to some degree they have their hands tied dealing with STAR.

How is this turning out for you guys? My Jeep has the same ticking - gets worse as it gets hotter (from running for a little while). I've got a 2012 JKU Rubicon... hesitant to waste a day at the dealership for them to tell me "that's normal" like they always do.

as a longtime mechanic i cannot , for the life of me , understand why chrysler insists on these engines being torn down multiple times when it is apparent , that a head replacement with the updated part is the fix . i sure as hell wouldnt want my engine being torn down at a minimum of twice in order to fix it , it costs more for them because they are putting new lifters etc , that replace the lifters that arent the problem , then they tear it apart again to replace the head. all this removing and installing fasteners , clamps , hoses ,connectors is bs . bolts stretch , the threads in the boltholes get pulled everytime they are run down again . not to mention i would bet that that nothing but internals are retorqued to spec . ya i know its all warrantied blah blah blah .....................jus dont get it
