Default 2013 high RPM's???

Like the title says it seems that my new jeep runs a little high on the rpms at highway speed, is this usual?

specs: 2013 deep cherry red 2dr 4x4 hard top
trans: 5spd auto
gears: 3.73
tires: stock 255's on steel 16's
miles: 1300ish

while on cruise control (relatively flat ground) @ 70mph im at 2600RPM
@ 65mph im at 2500RPM

to me this seems a bit high for what i have come up with searching, what do yall think? anyone got this set up and same results?

Thanks

I would say that's normal, although I have a 12 with 3:21's @ 70 I'm at 2000 so with your higher gears I would say your right on the money

Sounds right. My '12 Rubi with 4.10s ran a tad higher until I went to a taller tire.

I have 3.73 gears. Your running the same size tire as a Rubi with a smaller rim. I think your spot on.

You said you have 255 tires with 16" steel wheels. As far as I know they don't have stock tires in this size. You probably meant to say 225 tire? If so, then you need to take that into account, as it's more of a 28" tire, not 31". With a 28" tire your RPMs at your speeds according to rpm calculations should be:

@65mph: 2415 rpm
@70mph: 2601 rpm

With a 31" tire it should be:

@65mph: 2181 rpm
@70mph: 2349 rpm

With the tow package they do. I did not want to pay for it. Plus I plan on going to 5.13's with 37's.
