If so, then you need to take that into account, as it's more of a 28" tire, not 31". With a 28" tire your RPMs at your speeds according to rpm calculations should be:

@65mph: 2415 rpm
@70mph: 2601 rpm

With a 31" tire it should be:

@65mph: 2181 rpm
@70mph: 2349 rpm
Thanks really helped, makes sense now. By chance do you know what the same speeds would be riding on 33's? Sorry about the numbers dyslexic kicked in lol

No problem. If you get 33's, they will be more like 32's when mounted. This calculation is based on 32" actual tire diameter:

@65mph: 2113 rpm
@70mph: 2275 rpm

If you do happen to get a tire that is 33" mounted (this tire is likely going to be advertised as a 34"), it will be:

@65mph: 2049 rpm
@70mph: 2207 rpm

I have a 2013 JKU Sport with 3:73 gears,auto and 255/75/17 tire package I recently went on a 500 trip and averaged 21.2 mpg @70mph at around 23-2400 rpm.If I went up to 75mph
it went down to 17 mpg.I ran 36 psi. in the tires which increased to 38 as the tire heated up.
